Setup
This asset comes with the License Manager. You can add it to your world and try it right away, but you must validate your product license with the License Manager before you can publish your world.
Setting up the Room System in your VRChat world is quick and straightforward. Follow these steps carefully to get everything running.
-
Import the Package: Ensure you have successfully downloaded and imported the Room System package into your project.
-
(Optional) Import the Notification System: If you'd like intercom rings and access-denied alerts to also show as on-screen notifications, download and import the separate Notification System package too, then locate its prefab and drag a single instance into your active scene hierarchy. This is entirely optional — the Room System works exactly the same without it; you'll just be missing the on-screen alerts. Feel free to skip to step 3 if you don't need this.
-
Place Your Rooms: Locate the Room System prefab in your project files. Drag and drop this prefab into your scene hierarchy. You need to do this for every room you want to create (e.g., if your world has 5 separate rooms, drag the prefab into the scene 5 times and position them accordingly).
-
Add the Rooms Management: Next, locate the Rooms Management prefab and drag a single instance of it into your scene. This prefab acts as the brain that coordinates all the individual rooms you just placed.
-
Link the Rooms (and, Optionally, the Notification System) to the Manager: Select the Rooms Management prefab in your scene hierarchy. In the Unity Inspector, look for its Udon script:
- Drag and drop every single Room System prefab from your scene into the rooms array.
- (Optional) If you placed a Notification System prefab in step 2, drag it into the Notification System reference slot. Leave this slot empty if you're not using the integration — the Room System works fine without it, it just won't show the on-screen intercom/deny alerts.
💡 Important: Add the rooms to the array in a logical, sequential order (for example, starting from the first room in a corridor and ending with the last). The system automatically assigns room numbers based on the exact order they are placed in this list.
-
Open the CrZVRC Tool: Look at the very top toolbar of your Unity editor. Click on CrZVRC and select Room System from the dropdown menu.
-
Generate Render Textures: A custom editor window will open. Simply click the Generate Render Textures button.
-
Wait for Confirmation: The tool will automatically configure the necessary render textures for your UI. Once it finishes, a small popup window will appear notifying you that the setup is complete!
