Licence Manager

All of my assets come with the CrZVRC License Manager. It is included in the package you download from my stores (Jinxxy or Booth), so there is nothing extra to install.

You can add the assets to your project, place them in your worlds and try everything out straight away. But until you validate your license with the License Manager, you will not be able to publish your world.

Publishing requires a validated license

When you publish a world (Build & Publish, Build & Test, or any upload from the VRChat SDK), the License Manager checks every CrZVRC asset in your scene. If an asset is not licensed on your account, the build is cancelled and a message tells you which assets are missing a license. As soon as you validate the license, publishing works normally.

This check only happens in the Unity Editor, when you publish. Nothing is checked inside your world, and the people who visit your world are never affected.

Here is a complete step-by-step guide on how to validate your license.

1. Opening the License Manager

After you import the asset's .unitypackage into your Unity project:

  1. Look at the top menu bar in Unity.
  2. Click on CrZVRC > License Manager.
  3. The License Manager window will open and dock into your Unity layout.

2. Syncing Your Account (One-Time Setup)

Before you can validate a license, you need to sync your VRChat account with my platform. You only have to do this once.

caution

You must be logged into the VRChat SDK control panel within your Unity project. The License Manager securely and automatically extracts your VRChat User ID directly from the SDK.

Steps to Sync:

  1. Check VRChat ID: The License Manager will automatically fetch and display your VRChat User ID.
  2. Enter Email: Type your preferred email address into the provided text field.
  3. Request Code: Click the Send Login Code button.
  4. Verify: Check your email inbox for the 6-digit code. Enter it into the License Manager and click Verify Code.

3. Registering Your License

Obtaining Your License Key

  • Jinxxy Purchases: Your license key is provided automatically upon purchase on the store page or in your receipt.
  • Booth Purchases: Booth does not generate license keys automatically. To get your key, please join our Discord server, open a support ticket, and provide proof of your purchase. I will manually generate and send your license key.

Validating Your Asset

  1. In the Activate New Asset section, choose the Store where you bought the asset (Jinxxy or Booth).
  2. Enter your license key and click Register License.
  3. Once registered, your product appears in the Activated Assets list. Your license is now validated and you can publish worlds that use the asset.

4. What You Will See Before Your License Is Validated

  • In the Inspector: the asset shows a red notice saying it is not licensed on your account, with an Open License Manager button.
  • When you publish: the build is cancelled with a Build blocked: license required message listing the assets that are missing a license.

To fix it, open the License Manager, log in, register your license key (or press Fetch if you already did), and publish again.

5. Keeping Your License Validated

  • After a successful check, your license is remembered on your computer. The saved data is signed, so it cannot be edited by hand.
  • It refreshes automatically in the background when Unity starts (if the saved data is more than 12 hours old), and whenever you log in, press Fetch, or register a key.
  • You can keep publishing for up to 7 days without an internet connection after your last successful check. After that, open the License Manager while online and press Fetch.
  • If you Logout of the License Manager, you will need to log in again before you can publish.
  • A license that has been suspended or revoked is no longer valid, and publishing with that asset is blocked.
  • The License Manager must stay in your project. If it is removed, publishing worlds that use my assets is blocked.

6. Downloading and Updating Assets

Your activated assets are listed under Activated Assets. Click Import next to an asset to download its latest version directly into your project. The License Manager then opens the standard Unity dialog prompting you to import the .unitypackage.

7. Updating the License Manager

The License Manager shows its version at the bottom of the window. It checks for a newer version when Unity starts and when you open the window, and you can check at any time with the Check for updates button.

  • Yellow banner (update available): a newer version exists. Click Update License Manager whenever you want. You can keep publishing in the meantime.
  • Red banner (update required): this version is no longer allowed, for example because of a security fix. Publishing worlds that use my assets is blocked until you update.

Nothing is ever installed automatically: the update only happens when you click Update License Manager. It downloads the update and imports it, and Unity then reloads the scripts.

danger

Please be aware that your licenses are permanently linked to the VRChat User ID you used during the synchronization process.

Because of this direct link, if you lose access to your VRChat account for any reason (e.g., losing your login credentials, account deletion, or bans), you will also lose access to your purchased assets.

Please ensure you keep your VRChat account secure, as licenses cannot be transferred to a different VRChat account once they are registered.
